A Calorie is not a Calorie & Your Gut Bacteria are Making You Fat

There is far more to weight gain than just calories in calories out. Although this is a critical component of weight management, this is far from the FULL picture.

Some individuals have Bacteria that are far more efficient at removing calories from their food, especially when it comes to fats and sugars.

For the exact same calorie intake individuals with a higher ratio of certain bacteria (Firmicutes) will extract far more calories from their diet than others even when calorie intake is matched.

This doesn’t mean you can necessarily blame your bacteria for being fat but it does give a good argument to the debate
NOT ALL CALORIES ARE CREATED EQUALLY

Key point: We are all created differently and so to are our gut bacteria and their capabilities. This is why two differnt people might go on the exact same “diet” with the eaxct same caloires but get every differnt results
